About the Job
Ninety Eight is currently hiring for the position of 2D Game Animator Lead. As a 2D Game Animator Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our games. You will lead a team of talented animators, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the highest quality animation standards, while also contributing directly to the creation of stunning visuals for our hyper-casual and casual games.
Responsibilities
- Animation Production: Oversee the entire animation pipeline, from concept to final delivery.
- Character Animation: Create high-quality 2D character animations, ensuring smooth motion, expressive performances, and adherence to game design.
- Animation Techniques: Proficient in a range of animation techniques, including keyframe animation, motion graphics, and skeletal animation.
- Technical Expertise: Master the use of industry-standard animation tools and stay up-to-date with the latest animation tools and techniques.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of animators, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure seamless integration of animation into the game.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high quality standards by reviewing and providing feedback on team members' work.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in the game industry, with 3 years in a relevant leadership role.
- Ability to lead, train and motivate a team of animators.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and weight.
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation tools and techniques, such as Spine, Live2D, DragonBones, and others.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A portfolio showcasing your previous work is an absolute requirement.
