About the Job
As our Founding Smart Contract Engineer / Blockchain Lead, you will be the principal architect of our on-chain infrastructure. You will have direct ownership of the design, development, and deployment of the smart contracts that power our entire ecosystem. This is a role for a builder who thrives on technical challenges and wants to make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities
- Architect & Develop: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of secure, gas-efficient, and upgradeable smart contracts on multiple EVM-compatible chains (e.g., COTI, Polygon, OP, BNB, Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum).
- Multi-Chain Strategy: Implement and manage our multi-chain smart contract architecture, ensuring seamless interoperability and leveraging the unique strengths of different Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions.
- Privacy-Centric Implementation: Collaborate closely with our team to integrate our EVM contracts with COTI v2's privacy-preserving layer, particularly for confidential rewards, payments, and data handling.
- Security First: Establish and enforce best-in-class security practices. Conduct rigorous testing, lead internal code reviews, and manage external audits to ensure the integrity and safety of our on-chain assets and user data.
- Technical Leadership & Vision: As a founding member, you will be a key voice in our technical strategy, roadmap, and architecture decisions. You will help define the engineering culture and mentor future team members.
- Build the Core Product: Your initial focus will be on developing the smart contracts for our on-chain referral system and freelancer marketplace, which are central to our platform's success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Expertise in Smart Contract Development: 3-5+ years of hands-on experience writing, testing, and deploying production-grade smart contracts using Solidity and Hardhat/Foundry, Thirdweb
- Deep EVM Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), gas optimization techniques, and common security vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, front-running).
- Multi-Chain Experience: Proven experience deploying and managing smart contracts on multiple EVM chains and an understanding of cross-chain communication principles.
- Security Mindset: A deeply ingrained, security-first approach to development, with experience in smart contract auditing and security tools.
- Startup Mentality: High ownership, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. You are a problem-solver who can wear multiple hats and take a concept to a fully-realized product.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Requirement
- Experience with Layer 2 scaling solutions and their specific nuances.
- Familiarity with privacy-preserving technologies like Garbic Circuit, ZK-proofs or TEEs.
- Previous experience in a lead or founding engineering role at a startup.
- Contributions to open-source Web3 projects.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
