About the Job
As a Data Engineer at Decentralab, you’ll work closely with blockchain data, especially focusing on on-chain perpetual trading data. Your responsibility is to focus on data cleaning, enrichment, and transformation processes that turn raw blockchain data into valuable trading insights. Working with our MongoDB and Elasticsearch stack, you'll ensure our perpetual trading data is accurate, complete, and enriched with the context needed for meaningful market analysis..This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about blockchain, trading markets, and data engineering to grow in a fast-paced but balanced work environment — no overtime expected.
Responsibilities
- Implement robust data cleaning processes for on-chain perpetual trading data
- Develop data enrichment pipelines that add context and value to raw blockchain transactions
- Create transformation workflows that normalize and standardize trading data across different sources
- Design data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Identify patterns and anomalies in trading data to improve data quality
- Enrich trading data with additional market context and metadata
- Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure clean data integration
- Build feature extraction processes to support trading analytics
- Document data cleaning methodologies and enrichment techniques
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on data cleaning and enrichment
- Strong skills in data transformation, normalization, and standardization techniques
- Experience with data quality assessment and improvement methodologies
- Proficiency working with MongoDB for data storage and transformation
- Experience with Elasticsearch for enriched data indexing
- Knowledge of ETL processes for complex data sources
- Experience with data deduplication and reconciliation techniques
- Familiarity with metadata management and data enrichment sources
- Working knowledge of Python or similar languages for data manipulation
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to data quality details
- Ability to collaborate effectively with backend engineering teams
Preferred Requirement
- Understanding of blockchain data structures and transaction formats
- Basic understanding of perpetual trading markets is a plus
- Experience working on blockchain projects or decentralized applications (dApps).
- Experience in financial trading (crypto, forex) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of microservices deployment technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
